 HOW TO KEEP MONITOR/LAPTOP SCREEN AT CORRECT POSITION TO AVOID NECK PAIN

   Don’t place laptop on your lap

   Position the screen of your laptop/desktop correctly in front of you on your desk. (with the centre of the screen level with your nose)

   Use an adjustable (ergonomic) chair with back support

   Adjust the screen properly so that you can read the screen without bending your neck. Remember, your eyes should naturally hit the top third of your screen when you look straight ahead.

   Set up your mouse position in a proper position so that your wrist is in a neutral position

   If the monitor brightness is too low, you will bend your head downward and increase stress on your neck, hence adjust the brightness of screen properly

   Use laptop/desktop with bigger screen because a smaller screen may cause you to strain to see text and objects

   Position the keyboard close enough to you so your elbows are bent approximately 90 degrees when typing. Position the keyboard high enough so no need to slump down through your shoulders to touch the keys. Place the mouse at the same level as the keyboard.

   Limit the use of your Smartphone especially while working on laptop or desktop. Generally, people tend to bend their heads forward even further when looking at phones and tablets. Holding a head-forward posture to look down at your device continuously can cause painful muscle strains leading to neck pain.
